D20s! Great dice, very commonly used in many tabletop RPGs, often your most used and trusted dice (until they roll only 1s and you send them to dice jail..!) But what if they were cooler?
Introducing; D20 Potion Rollers!
Potion Rollers are not a new concept, they’ve made the rounds on popular social media platforms for years and gaining popularity everyday. So I’ve decided to put my own spin on them and make a smaller potion roller that fits better in your hand and takes up less space in storage. Shake them, flip them upside down and see what you roll as the dice floats to the top of your shimmering vial!
See the demonstration video below on what they’re all about!
Potion Rollers come in a large variety of colours and potion types and come in three Rarities! Each rarity depicts additional features about the particular potion, and so the same potion but with less or more additional parts may come in one or even all three rarities. There is also a special fourth variation at the very end.

Common potion rollers are your bare basics. Neat little potion bottles, a dice in the middle of swirling transparent or glittering water, wrapped in cord, sealed with wax and labelled with a variety of fun potion labels.

Exotic potions have a little more excitement to them. They may have an alternative wrapping such as leather, special dice or another special feature that sets them above commons such as chains or eyes, but not quite Mythic level.

Mythic potions are the top of the shelf, usually featuring something special like a ring of teeth around the neck of the bottle, feathers, axes or dragon skulls, or some other fantastical element that separates them from the basic common or exotic potions.

And last but not least, a special variety of D20 Potion Roller. As a bit of a play on ‘Invisibility’ Potions, we instead have Visibility Potions! Our Potions of Visibility series are unique and special in that they are designed to celebrate a specific people or culture that their theme is about. Each PoV features a flag depicting what group it represents and comes themed in the flag’s colours. They are not considered part of the three rarities and are instead their own category.
Custom Potions
We are planning to add a completely customisable ‘Create Your Potion’ option in the future, but for the time being we are happy to make minor modifications to existing options if you contact me before making a purchase- please do not panic about stock levels if you are after something customised, as stock levels represent potions currently being made or already in stock. This does not guarantee your potion will be made at the time of request, as most releases of potions are based on available resources, and it will be discussed with you.
Please note that customised potions will incur additional fees, pending what the changes are and will be unique to each request.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do you use them?
A. Shake! Shake them to disturb the powder and flip them upside-down. The Dice will float to the “top” of the bottle revealing your roll just like rolling a dice on the table.
Q. The powder is stuck to the bottom of the potion, I can’t read the dice!
A. The powder settles when not in use. Hold the potion firmly and give it a good shake, continue shaking until the powder is dispersed!
Q. My potion seems to have grown crystals inside it?
A. There’s a small chance that due to the type of solution in the potion which allows the dice to float that it causes salt to crystalise and stick to the bottom of the potion trapping the powder and making it impossible to read your dice. Thanks to the process I use, this is really rare. The crystals develop relatively fast so normally by the time it’s shipped to you we can catch a bad potion before it’s sent to you.
If your potion has ARRIVED like this please contact us immediately to return and replace it. Do NOT attempt to remove the crystals yourself.
If you have had your potion for a while and this has become a problem over time, please read out Refunds policy and contact us.
Q. My potion broke, how do I clean it up?
A. Clean up the liquid with soapy water, be careful of any glass shards and dispose of all solid material safely in a bin. If you are having difficulty getting the powder out of materials you can use tape, lint rollers or another safe sticky tool to pick the glitter up. Isopropyl alcohol may also be beneficial.
While it’s super unfortunate if you accidentally break your potion you do still get a dice out of it, so not all is lost! Please be safe when removing the dice from the broken bottle if you intend on keeping it.
Q. Why do some potions have options for dice, cord or stamps and others don’t?
A. All potions are going to be eventually streamlined into a single option to make this easier on me as a one-man-team. Excess options are the result of playing around for conventions where it’s easier to visually see the options- it gets a lot harder with online sales as listing a single item that might have slight differences such as one Mana potion have a Raven stamp and another having a mushroom Stamp could result in disappointment.
At a later date we will reconsider this, and provide a completely customisable “Create Your Potion” option in the future with ALL the options.
For the time being I am more than happy to do minor modifications if you contact me before purchasing.
Do not attempt to tamper with, open or drink the contents of the potion rollers as it may be toxic (resins and some metals from the metallic powder may make the liquid unsafe.)
These items are made of glass and are NOT to be given to children under 12.
Do not expose to extreme heat or cold conditions as the potion may explode.
